at my father's house

from the outside, it could be any old condo.







but step through the door, won't you? there are no windows in the foyer, so it's a bit dark. your eyes adjust quickly enough though.







the look in this particular house was a sort of 1920's eternally modern, and as such there are flowing drapes all over the house, which are rather striking in contrast with the very dark-stained wood floors. peer down the main hall to the living area, won't you?







straight ahead at the end of the main hall is the den, where dad watches tv when i'm asleep in the guestroom/office (which would be the door you saw off the foyer). and hey look, there's dad now!







let's get a closer look, shall we? it's also clear, in this picture, where i get my penchant for dorky smiles...




anyway.


dad and loree's room is to the right, but i didn't take any pictures. imagine a room that is entirely white. the floor, the walls, the chairs. one wall of mirrors lined with large photographs. an all-white bed sitting on a giant white shag area rug. a large arched window behind the bed. there we go. back to teh living room, what you can't really see is that the giant book on the stand in the far corner is actually a giant book of photography. which is awesome.

loree hadn't done her hair yet, so she wouldn't let me take any pictures, but in the meantime, meet polly, one of the cutest dogs ever (she may be a teeny tiny PurseDog, but she's not yappy, she's a total conehead, and true to that sort, she's about as smart as a peach. which isn't very smart. she's sure cute though.
